1. Let's start off with some basic things about your character. What kinds of things do you want to tell us about your character? How long have you been playing Rappelz
My main is an Bishop name EvaCassidy (taken after my real name) and I love playing that toon, either in DPs, farming or chatting. In part 2 of the current epic, Solus Aurum, I like to get in the middle of a crowd and buff!
I've been playing since October 07 when I was taking a little break from the virtual world Second Life. A co-worker told me about this game and thought I try it out since I haven't played an MMO for a couple of years before that when a game I was also a moderator on was discontinued by it's developer.
2. What’s your biggest motivation for being a volunteer moderator for the forums?
The good feeling of helping fellow players enjoy the game and getting a PM from a customer which they thank me for the help.
3. What’s your most memorable moment as a moderator?
It was the 2 weeks on the epic 5 test server. There was a lot of interaction between all the mods and GMs and it was a blast. The mods and GMs even had their own guild, RoosterLovers. With that guild, I knew when a GM logged in, although I kept that part secret so they wouldn't get PMed to death! As for the test server, I miss my little draggy.. Hint Hint! LoL
4. What’s your favorite part of being a mod? Least favorite part?
Favourite part...dare I say? Secure, secure and secure!!! <Evil laugh> Favourite part is helping the peeps on the forums and making sure things don't go out of hand.
Least favourite part? Sometimes when I lock a thread and person who made it opens another one and another one to annoy the mods. Also, itoki not picking me as winner for EVERY maintenance contest! No cookies for you!!
5. Is it tough being a mod?
Sometimes it is, especially when a server crash and burns on the weekend and the mods can't get a hold of a GM to notify the IT people to fix it. One weekend Bahamut went cactus and that was the case.
6. How long have you been a mod? How did you become a mod?
I've been mod since Spring of 08, and I became one when Itoki asked me (and a few others) if I could help out since some of my posts were helpful by directing players to the right areas or links. About the same time other great peeps also came on board as mods and we make a great team!
7. What’s your favorite part about Rappelz? If you could change one thing about the game, what would it be?
My favourite part is the community, even if I'm just sitting somewhere and chatting. In fact one time me and a co-worker was using it work chat when he couldn't get his IM proggy to work on his end. I enjoy Rappelz so much I even set up my own forum called Rappelz Friends at
www.rappelzfriends.com.
One thing I would change, is I would have the item mall do away with timed items such as loot pets, angel wings, etc and sell only the permanent versions of those. The timed versions would be restricted for use in drop events only.
8. Any last comments?
In RL I'm in my late 30s and I work as an accountant for a major software company and I telecommute most of the time and jump in the game during breaks. I also love to sing and I'm a singer for a small band that plays in lounges in the San Francisco area usually on weekends. In fact my tag is "Aussie Gal who crunches numbers by day and sings numbers by night"
I'm originally from Australia and went to school in Burnaby BC and Santa Clara, CA. I went back home for awhile and since came back to the States to help family that moved here long time ago.
