Blue pixie equipment
Since I decided to "park" my assassin for a while, I started myself a strider which will eventually become a shadow hunter. As I am still a beginner in the game, I only started playing in June 2009, the pet of choice for my wanna-be hunter is a blue pixie. Good healer, no problems for farming (except some little issues with MP, but easily corrected), but I am a bit doubtful about her equipment, although it should be pretty easy; magician costume, as a card passive, and a staff for massive healing.
I read somewhere about a 2H mace, as I am using force chips, not luna, so pixie's damage is somewhat subdued with staff; but the amount of healing goes down perceptibly, while damage isn't extraordinarily high compared to staff. True, she is still a low level, have no idea of future development, so this is where I'd be interested in other ideas/opinions about this.
Thank you, guys.

Personally I believe a Bp is strictly a healer pet not a damage dealer. Bp's are great for keeping you alive while soloing however, dealing damage is not their primary function. If you want a DD, perhaps an Rp or Sala will do for your SH. I use an Rp on my SH and she does quite well!! I have also used my Siren on her and she does really well on her. You want a ranged type pet for a ranged type char so ppl say. One day I will have a hawk and she will be put on all my chars cause of their tanking abilities. However, hawk prices are ridiculous and ppl in game are greedy as hell so I have come to the conclusion I will never own one.
Oh btw as far as equips go, I use warrior armor on all my pets properly stoned. Use a 2H staff on Bp and warrior armor!!! She will not be as squishy with warrior armor in case she takes agro from healing you!!!!

Yes, you are right, she is by far no damage dealer, that is my hunter; but I am sticking to magician costume, which is a pet ability, and also to the 2H staff for the pixie, healing looks way better like that. At level 50 the hunter is dealing good amounts of damage so I will not need a damage dealing pet for him.
Speaking of "desired" pets, I would really like a harpy, ranged pet, and also unity is very good for the hunter class... but my oh my... the price is a huge deterrent. Downright ridiculous. Hopefully the new epic coming out will get the price to lower some.

Harpy + Sin = Win!!!!!!!!!!!!! The unity atk speed of the Harpy is far greater than that of the skelly. DPS (damage per second) FTW!!!! Only thing a Harpy will do for an SH or Archer is make em shoot arrows faster. Not really a big improvement considering they deal huge amounts of damage as it is. =]

I would really like to get a harpy, I could use it with the sin and the shadow hunter as well; hopefully with the new epic coming out the price of the harpies will get a little lower, or maybe the drop rate will be somewhat improved.

I'm a bishop so my use of a BP is strictly belted (occasionally bought out for really dire DP's). Oddly enough I find my Pantera does the trick of being a good wingman.
When I use my BP however I go for the 2 handed staff, magician clothes and int/wis build. If i want to do real damage though my RP is a great accompanyment

Actually I kept the magician equipment and 2H staff with my BP, healing more is better, although I started to realize, at least at this level, that I don't need much of a healing; so I think that right now I need more the BP's unity the most, as my hunter can go through its mana pool pretty fast.
But it looks like now we're getting way more potions than before the release of this epic, so I can use them more freely now. Since BP is one of the best pets for the hunter, and since I don't have enough money to get a harpy, she's the one that will accompany me for a long while, I guess.
